In Ahmedabad, during the winter times, outdoor weddings are preferred. For a long time, this meant a rudimentary piece of grass with fairly basic amenities - a shed that doubled as a kitchen, along with an adjacent piece of land that functioned as a parking lot. Everything else required for such an occasion - the creation of an enclosure, walkways, and lighting - was an added cost, and required detailed co-ordination.
A unique typology not seen elsewhere - the party plot - was created as a response to these issues.
